    1. More on Hugh Queen
    2. O Eugene Queen
    3. Elaine, please come in on this and straighten me out, Gayle's post appears to be an extremely promising link to the Hugh Queen of GA. who, I believe, is noted as a son of the Samuel and Nancy Queen, who first appeared (Joseph, Hugh and Samuel) in GA on the 1840 census of Habersham, then Hugh appeared in Rabun Co., GA in 1846 concerning, "I, Hugh Queen, do hereby certify that if ever I said that James Hunnicutt stole a hog or hogs that I was in a passion and said it for the purpose of aggrevation....". Hugh then appears in 1850 Rabun Co and later census reports. Key data: Hugh Queen, (born 1808-1811 NC) m. 1st Elizabeth H. Woodall ....dau Martha J. Queen (b. ca 1835 GA) ....son John W. Queen (b. ca 1838 GA) ....many other children, but key point is that was in GA for 1835 birth of Martha J. If this is the same man, then he was in Macon, NC in 1832 (probably near Joseph) and in GA by 1835 (certainly near Joseph in 1840). Perfect timing for the break-up of the Queen clan in the Cullowhee area of NC around the time of death of William Lewis Queen, Sr.???? Gene
