    3. Hi Group, Haven't posted in a while, but still with you. The flurry of notes today on the Queen group is refreshing, and informative. By the way, the MOSES Queen living with the Ratcliff family in Union County, GA, Fam. #342 for 1850/Union Co. is mine, belongs to James C. Queen, not Isaac. Reiley's page has quite a bit of info on the marriages, etc., of Queen members. If anyone needs anything from the early marriages of Lincoln, Rutherford counties - I have the Ingmire books with those listed. Glad to help. While I'm here, might as well note that my James C. Queen, b. c1805 probably is from Burke County, NC. Have turned the census records every way but loose, and it comes out perfect for his children when compared against the census records for 1830-40-50-60-70. Wife's given name-Sarah, surname still a mystery. Their children: 1. Catherine, b. abt 1826, m. Jan 06, 1847 (Richard Carney), d. aft 1880, Union Co., GA (This individual matches the census record perfectly, all other children accounted for via census, etc.) 2. Moses J., b. November 20, 1828 (Burke Co. NC), d. June 22, 1893, Union Co., GA., buried Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Blairsville, GA. m1- Mary Elizabeth Akins, Dec 15, 1873, Union Co., GA. b. c1851/SC. (This lady is, in my view, dau. of Stephen Akins of SC, thence Union County, Ga.) a. Doctor Wiley Queen/b. Sep. 29, 1874, Union Co., d. Feb 7, 1934 Jefferson Co., Ala. m. Melvina Elizabeth Jones. b. William Lewis Queen/b. Sep 6, 1877, Union Co., d. Nov. 13, 1958 Asheville, NC. c. Lillie Queen, b. Feb, 1881. m2. Sarah Adeline Redden Fain (her second marriage)- abt. 1884. a. Jessie Lee Queen, b. Aug. 8, 1886, Union Co. m. Mar 3, 1901, Fannin Co. GA. to Marion Asborne Wright. She died-Jan 28, 1967, Asheville, NC. b. Andrew Barkley Queen, b. Apr. 17, 1888, Union Co. d. Nov. 28, 1970, Salisbury, Rowan County, NC (VA Hospital). m. Emeline Stiles. c. Richard Luther Queen, b. Feb 7, 1890, Union Co., d. Aug. 1, 1978, Asheville, NC. m1-Ollie Ingram, m2-Mildred Jennings. d. Walter Patrick Queen, b. June 22, 1893, Union Co., d. Nov. 2, 1931, Blue Ridge, Fannin Co., GA. m. Vestia Jones. 3. John Queen-b. c1831, m. Katherine Lowery Oct.16, 1850 Union Co. 4. James Queen-b. c1835, m. Stancy Fox Aug 23, 1855, Union Co. 5. Susan M. Queen-b.c1836, m1-William Hix, m2-Jonas Simpson. 6. William Queen-b. c1838 (Possibly m. Frances Cox, Dec 22, 1859 in Fannin Co. GA.) 7. Nancy Polly Queen, b. c1840. 8. Sarah Adeline Queen, b. c1842 9. Merida (Meredith?) Queen, b. Aug 17, 1845, d. Sep 11, 1930 m. Elizabeth Brackett. 10. Jane Queen, b. c1846. 11. Caroline Queen, b.c1849. There are some questions on one or two individuals. For Example, since Merida Queen died in 1930, supposedly in Union County, why is there no Death Certificate for him in that county? GA Archives requires the Funeral Home name to make a check. If I had that, I wouldn't need the DC! Seriously, if anyone knows in which county this individual died, I would greatly appreciate the info to facilitate acquiring a DC. Regards, Jerry.
