Stevie Lou Powell wrote: Betty Knight-Eugene Queen and others, This is one Queen that I don't remember seeing any information on. I have a copy of a death certificate for a James Franklin Queen born June 20. 1865 in Blairsville, Georgia. He died October 27, 1938 in Union County. His parents are listed as Merida Queen and Elizabeth Brackett. Can someone tell me who this Elizabeth Brackett is the daughter of? The death certificate states parents born Georgia, but I don't find a marriage record in Union County. Also maybe this will hgelp someone else. Stevie Lou Powell Stevie and all, I dont know for certain who Elizabeth Brackett Queens parents are but I offer the name of Felix Walker Brackett based on some of the facts to follow. Please let me know your thoughts. In the 1880 Union Co Ga Census, Elizabeths parents are also listed as being born in GA. There are some possibilities. One is that Elizabeth Brackett was married prior to marriage with Queen. Another possibility some other Bracketts were in GA earlier than the Union Co Bracketts. I have found a William Brackett in a 1799 Tax Index in Jackson Co, GA.(no further info available) Other Bracketts in Hall Co, GA, as early as 1830, Polly, Betsy and Benjamin Bracketts. Benjamin Brackett married Susan Hubbard(of Native Amer descent) and had a son Jesse M. who stated on Indian Rolls that his Grandparents were Thomas and Elizabeth Brackett. ( Stevie some researchers think that this Thomas Brackett is also father of our Morgan Brackett and I did find listed in a Union Co, Census where one of the descendands of the Hall Co Bracketts were living next door to one of Morgan Bracketts children, coincidence or relationship.) Hall Co, GA - Benjamin Brackett (b c1803)NC has brothers Lewis(b. c1810), Mige b. c1812), Jesse(b c.1815) and Bradford (b c1819 who married in Lumpkin Co, GA and his descendants still live there). I also noticed that one of Morgan Bracketts sons, Morgan Washington Brackett named a son Bradford Brackett. Another Brackett in the N. GA area was Felix Walker Brackett who moved to Habersham Co, GA in early 1830(according to Clyde Brown, desc. of Felix). Felix married Jane Asinthe(Cynthia) Queen. Living next door to Felix Brackett is Joseph, Hugh and Samuel Queen. I dont know the relation of these three Queen men to Jane Queen Brackett. Facts> Felix Walker Brackett had a store in Brackettown, NC during the 1827-1833 gold rush. With information from Clyde Brown and the 1850 Census of Habersham Co, GA, the following facts can be determined for Felix Brackett and family: Felix Brackett (44 NC) (b. c. 1806) Jane (38 NC) Jane (Asinthe) Queen (b. c1812) LG(19 female, NC) This is Louisa b. 1839 m. The only think that doesnt fit is the fact that elizabeth gave her parents as being born in GA. Also, another question that Clyde Brown(desc. Of Felix Walker Brackett) and others would like to know: Who is the parents of Jane Asinthe(Cynthia) Queen Brackett?
