Hi all, I know, it's past bedtime; but I can't turn it loose right now. Trying to find a pa for Isaac Queen who married Ruth Hunt in Rutherford County on 5-24-1832. Possible 1830 Rutherford candidates per Riley's Web Page: Richard Queen George Queen James Queen Hugh, William A., and Charles are out...no boys the right age. 1820 Rutherford James Queen...still in the running 1810 Rutherford No James or George, but a Richard in the running 1820 Buncombe Richard Quene...in the running However, check this out......In 1810 Buncombe on pg 290 are Levi Anderson, Samuel Queen, Philip Sutton, and Philip Sutton, Jr. all in a row...neighbors to each other. (No Richard Queen nearby) In 1820 Buncombe on pg 117 are Philip Sutton, John Sutton, Lawson? Sutton, Silas Sutton, Levi Anderson and Richard Quene all in a row...neighbors to each other. (No Samuel Queen nearby. He's on pg 108). Samuel Queen is over 45 in 1810 and Richard is 26<45 in 1810 and over 45 in 1820. Now, the kids don't fit; so it's two different folks....but, what does it mean??? That's the Samuel who married Dicey. Who is the Richard Queen who moved into the very house (?) after Samuel left? Let's suppose that Richard Queen is somehow related to Samuel Queen (who married Dicey and is in Haywood by 1830). Let's further suppose that Isaac Queen was Richard's son. Thus, we have an Alfred Queen (b. ca 1833) son of Isaac, son of Richard, related to this Samuel. This Isaac heads off to Washington Co., TN about 1839...there by 1840 census. Over in Haywood County in 1820 and 1830 is another Samuel Queen (b. ca 1776-1780). Believe that he has sons James H. Queen (b. 1808) and Alfred (b. 1810). This Alfred heads off to Cocke Co, TN about 1839....there by 1840 census. Now, if Isaac had a head start to TN, maybe that's why he went on up into Washington County, about 50 miles N.E. of Cocke County. Well, it was a thought. Have fun with this, anyone who wishes to let the imagination run wild. And, please let me know what you conclude. Gene
