    3. Hi all, The transcript (poorly done by me, I might add) was posted by me a year or so ago. Special note that I believe the dates to be 1830 and 1836. But, here's the questions: What is meant by "Judicullar forks" of Scotts Creek? Anyone familiar with the name Thomas Woodfin? Note also that a Wm Queen witnessed this deed. Gene Book C, Pg 466 Deeds (Grantee), Haywood County Know all men by these presents that I James Patterson of the State of North Carolina and County of Haywood for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and eighty dollars, the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained, and sold unto James Queen of the County and State aforesaid a certain tract of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on both sides of the Judicullar forks of Scotts Creek including the improvement where Thomas Windfin ---- ---- Beginning on a poplar thence South one hundred and thirty four poles to a stake, thence West one hundred and twenty poles to a stake, thence North one hundred and thirty poles to a stake, thence to the beginning. Containing one hundred acres together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining, the same being originally granted to John Fogner and by him conveyed to one George Gunter and by him conveyed to James Patterson and I convey it to the same James Queen his heirs and assigns for his and their proper use. In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 24th day of August 1880 (?). James Patterson (seal) Wm Shoutfull Wm Queen. Acknowledged. State of N. Carolina, Haywood County. October session 1886. The ------- deed was duly acknowledged in open court recorded and ordered to be registered. Test. Wm Welch By. S. Fitzgerald D. C. Registered the 20th day of December A. Note: Pg 79 of the Grantee Index of Haywood County notes the date of this instrument as 8-1830; but the dates on the instrument appear to be 1880 and 1886??????
