My g-g-grandfather John Harrison Hughes b.1842 d. 1927 married 1861 Elmira " Myra" Queen b. 1844 d. 1934. Both are buried at Notla Baptist Church Cemetery in Belleview Community in Cherokee Co. NC. Myra was the daughter of Steven Queen B. 1820 and Sarah "Sallie" Stewart b. 1823. They are buried just across the GA/NC line and across Notla Dam in the first cemetery on the left. I cannot recall the name of the church off-hand. John and Elmira were married over in Polk Co. TN. It is said that she (Elmira) was part Indian. Might be part of the same family ______________________________ ------------------------------
