    3. Hello to all, For those interested in the Union Co. GA QUEENs, I have posted some additional information to the Union Co., Ga. website at: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/UnionWill Also, below is some information found on my last trip to Blairsville. Re: Lewis W. Queen son of Lewis Queen (Sr.) Record for Lewis W. Queen marriage to Sarah Robison on 12/25/1866. I believe that Sarah was the first of at least 3 wives for Lewis W. Queen. Entries found for Lewis W. Queen, concerning guardianship for Lewisa (Louisa?) J. Bowlin(g) and Sarah? Malisa Bowlin(g). Bowling was spelled Boulin and Bowlin. According to these records, Lewisa and Sarah? were the orphans of Bluford Boulin and Melinda Queen. The dates range from April - July 1870. Upon checking the 1870 census, I found Lewis W. Queen, age 30, in Blairsville Dist. HH# 68, with Luisa J., age 10, and Susan? M., age 6, in the household. Also in this household was John T., age 1 month (not so sure about this age, see below), and Mary Queen, age 22. I believe Mary Queen was list last on the census in order to indicate that she was not the wife. My theory is ..... Lewis married second, Bluford Bowlin(g)'s widow, Melinda and then Melinda died, leaving Lewis with the 2 children from her previous marriage (can't find marriage record in Union, may have married in another county). A Malinda C. Queen is buried in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery in the Blairsville Dist. According to the Cemetery Records Book, the tombstone gives her birth date as Apr 1, 1836 and her date of death as Feb.12, 1870. If this is the same person then she was probably the mother of the infant, John T., and most likely died in or from childbirth. Thus, the sister, Mary "Polly" Queen was called in to care for the children. According to the annual return that Lewis filed with the court on July 1st, 1870, the estate belonging to the girls consisted of: 88 acres of land worth less than $100.00 1 cow & her calf $20.00 9 head of sheep $9.00 2 head of stock hogs $6.00 Farming tools $4.00 House hold goods & kitchen furniture $100.00 Total $305.00 By November of 1870, guardianship of Louisa Boling & Susannah M. Boling (new spelling of names here) was in the hands of Thomas N. Queen. Thomas N. Queen, Alfred Queen & Daniel Stephens were bound and sworn to administer, make inventory and annual reports on the girls' behalf for the estate, with Thomas named as guardian. [Note: the above guardianship records were found in the Union County record book, "Inventory & Appraisements, Annual Returns, and Twelve Months Support 1867- 1877"; pages 184, 185, 218, 219] For a 3rd wife, Lewis W. Queen married Jane Walker on 10/17/1874, in Union Co.. Unfortunately, Lewis W. does not appear on the 1880 Union Co. Census to confirm this. Any comments on this are welcome.
