My great-great-great-grandmother, Miriam Rowland, was born in Rutherford Co NC in 1780. She married Ransom Powell in the same county in the year 1797. Ransom died (c1830?) and in his 1836 will Miriam's father, Thomas Rowland of Greenville District SC, refers to her as "Mira Queen". Her tombstone (in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery, White County, GA) identifies her as Miriam Powell, daughter of Thomas Rowland. Thomas had been dead since 1836. Do any of you Queen researchers know of a Queen who married a widow named Miriam Rowland Powell? The marriage would probably have taken place in Rutherford County, NC or Habersham County, GA, in the early 1830s. Thanks for any information at all. Lily Mullinax
