It appears to me the Queens I am looking for, went from NC to Indiana via TN and/or KY *Hannah Williams parents were Allen and Jane (Woodward) Williams. Allen & Jane married in 1794 in Jefferson Co, TN. This family were Quakers. Hannah's mother died in TN abt 1802, after which thr family moved to Overton Co, Tennessee, before going to Wayne County, Indiana, and from there to Bartholomew County, Indiana. *Hampton & Hannah were married in Wayne Co, Ind - 1820 *From a letter from a family member ".... told her about Hampton's activities against slavery. His home in Indiana and maybe in Madison County, Iowa, was a halfway house for the underground. I was told several stories about him driving escaped slaves under hayloads into Michigan from Indiana." I have no further information on Hampton between ~1796 - 1820, after that I can document his line until his death, 1855 in Iowa. Where he was for the first 24 yrs of his life and to which line of Queen he comes from is my great mystery. I have my suppositions on this family line, if I base it only on the names of Hampton & Hannah's children: Hogan, John, Alfred, William H., Phebe, James, Lucy Jane, Sarah Ann, and Zilpha G., but I would like to confirm this family line. **************************** (UNCONFIRMED) from another Queen researcher on this line Hampton's father is John Queen b. 1774 Montgomery Co, NC d. 1850-60 married Lucy __________ Hampton's Grandfather is Henson Queen b. 17__ d. ~1823 Rutherford Co Wife: Sarah Hampton ************************** Queen Misc.
