I would like to correspond with persons researching the QUEEN lineage in Maryland. I have successfully traced John H. Queen (ca. 1855-1927) and wife (Mary) Eliza Alcorn (ca. 1862-1917) to 1880, residing in Baltimore City. Moving beyond 1880 has been a challenge. Per the 1870 Anne Arundel census there is a Henry Queen residing in the Crownsville district: household of Henry Queen 43, Black, Carpenter, born in MD (as is wife and children); wife is Caroline 40, a cook; William H. 17; John H. 15; Rachel 14; Amelia 10; Christopher 9; Josiah 7; and Elija J. 4. It is my belief that the John reflected in this census record is my John H. Queen, however I have not yet been able to confirm. The names William and Amelia appear among his children. Information has been shared with me that a Dr. William Queen of Anne Arundel county was a slave holder who might of have been the owner of Henry Queen and his family. I would appreciate information regarding the slaves of William Queen and his Estate information. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may be related to or researching the above families. I am willing to work with persons connected to these families. Celeste
