Well, upgrade test results for 25551 are in, and they sure did not go as I expected. The result is that our "almost" confirmed Group 2 has disintegrated, and I have had to create a Group 7 to place the results for Merideth Queen (c 1823, NC). At the 37 marker level strangely enough, the closest match is participant 24082, the confirmed donor tracing back to Old William., but they are 7 mutations apart. This means that they likely did not share a common ancestor within the time frame that surnames were established, but may have shared an ancestor some time ago in the Old Country. A little discussion might shed light on this result, since Merideth seems to be common Group 1 name, it might be worth exploring explanations for this result, and the likely connections to the Group 1 Queens by other means.
