Nancy, No. 2---I believe the name is "Louellyn" and that the census man did not know how to spell it. So it would have been "Pleasant Louellyn Queen", and, if it is as you say, he eventually dropped the "Pleasant" and was called by the name which sounded like "Lou Allen". He could have spelled it "LouAllen".[Is it a Welsh name?] No.1: Your objections are duly noted--I am asking for a "schrum"--which is all of those involved getting into a group and battling out the details. [I haven't heard from the others.] I'll try to referee, and, we'll put Rolla in the "A" chair [Authority] since he understands the DNA better than I do. Let's get the others to discuss this group: Here's the schrum: 1.Hampton b. 1796 2.Jamison Queen b. ? 3.William Allen b. 1804 NC? 4. Alfred b. 1808? To MO / Iowa? 5.Pleasant L. b. 1810? To Ark /TX All brothers? WHY NOT? Sisters-- Mary Queen Hall and Letty Queen Hall. FATHER: James Queen? son of William Lewis? Grandfather "Old William" ? Thanks for your reply--Let's see what the others say. Cheers! I believe Gene's Alfred is through the son of William Lewis Sr, William Lewis Jr, and mine is Jamison son of James Queen, from Jamison to me I am sure of my facts. and I am not sure Glenda and my Hampton are the same. Phil is not sure he agrees with me about William Allen, as I said, I have only his name from my mother. 2). I believe the "Lou Allen" is being picked from the census taker from the census with that spelling, I have Leuelin and Lewellen and that is the son Pleasant who is on the 1850 census as age 4, and listed as Pleasant Queen. On the Civil War record Pleasant Sr. is listed as Pleasant L. Queen, so he must be named after his father.
