    1. Queen citations in BGSOTC

    3. One of the things that got the Queen List off to a tremendous start about 6 years ago was a virtual flood of information pertaining to the Queen family of NC onto this list. People scoured their files for all citations mentioning a Queen, and posted it onto this list. In recent times, this flood has slowed to a trickle. In part, this may be because new records are becoming more scarce. But I suspect that more information is out there, waiting to be posted, where it will be more likely to find its way into the hands of someone who needs it, OR to some of the super-sleuths on this List who can make sense of it, put it with other pieces of the puzzle, and make a breakthrough that will help others. In that light and with that hope, here's my gleanings from the Bulletin of the Genealogical Society of Old Tryon County (BGSOTC for short), volume 33. The 4th issue arrived today, with its terrific index, and the 4 issues are LOADED with citations of Queen material (along with many related families - Gene and others, if you don't subscribe to this quarterly, you really should! I'll send you my copies!) The records they are publishing direct one to the appropriate record. I'm designating the volume, issue, and page of BGSOTC like this - 33(4):22 is Volume 33, issue 4, page 22. RUTHERFORD COUNTY N.C. 3. Reiley, Thanks for the new to me data. I am going to have to play with this some. You are right about one thing, I have run out of new data. I keep hoping that some of the new folks will share some of the info they have on their families. I keep thinking that surely there are more documents available that we haven't even seen yet and your data is proof that there is. Anyone else with info that they might want to share, it's always welcome on the list. Particularly if you have death certificates, birth certs, or court records etc. These are documents that not everyone has access to and they sometimes contain new info on those Queen folks. Carol
