    3. I have not forgotten you - been awfully busy but have also been pondering this. Came to realize I first need to know what has already been done so I do not suggest things that would be duplication. How did you run across this particular Quinn? Only things I can come up with at this time are: 1) Posting in Quinn lists not only for people to give DNA samples but also those who have traced their genealogy to the first Quinn to come over from Ireland. Perhaps (if Charles actually came from Quinn and not MacQueen) someone else may have the connection after (or before) arriving in the US. 2) Looking for appropriate outlets in Ireland for DNA samples as well as genealogy 3) Looking at passenger lists around the time Charles should have arrived from Ireland and instead of looking for MacQueen looking for Quinn, then if some come up that are good possibilities trying to find people living now who descend from that Quinn who will participate. If we could get some donors and they match the Quinn donor and the three of us (from Charle) then we have accomplished something. I realize these are generalities, and you may have already done some of these. Please tear apart the above and then perhaps we could all take a slice of the above and press forward. -------------------- O Eugene Queen wrote: > My only idea is to start calling Quinn surnames in Northern Ireland > and see if anyone will talk. 3. Skip, I've done nothing of significance regarding Quin/Quinn. I check in at YSearch on occasion and run some of the samples I've sponsored against the YSearch database to see what shows up. I found David Quinn there. An e-mail to him resulted in a few exchanges of e-mail with him; then he went cold. No further e-mail response. 3. I have been following the Quinn DNA study and have exchanged emails with the administrator. I have the preliminary results of the first 7 Quinns as of a few months ago. I will followup with the administrator and see if any one has upgraded their tests - then I will post either the results or some analysis. In the initial tests, there were some matches at the 12 marker level with at least 2 of the Queen groups.
