Spoke this evening with a 71 yr old descendant of William L. Queen, Jr. through his son James Smith Queen. Alfred Queen's grandson, McKinley Queen, moved to Gaston County, NC in the early 1900's and lived for a period with my contact's father. When asked of the relationship of McKinley, contact replied that not close kin, just 2d or 3d cousin. .......Just... 2d or 3d cousin??????? Been busy last several hours in pulling files and internet data in documenting the lineage of contact back to James Smith Queen of 1819. Perfect documentation! Yes, this is the first time in over 30 years of research in which someone has made any statement confirming some sort of direct relationship of my Alfred to the old William Queen lineage.
