    1. Why Reuben kin to Samuel - DNA?

    3. Gene's 2 cents... Much more DNA work needs to be completed on this line (and the Samuel of 1759 line) before DNA can be used to support - or reject- the genetic probability of a relationship between Samuel of 1759 and this Reuben. The opinion of Gene is that current limited YDNA samples do not support a close relationship. Too many mutations on too many different alleles. But...........we have only one (1) DNA sample result of a documented descendant of old Samuel and only two (2) samples of the Reuben lineage - with those two samples far from matching each other. How's that for hedging all my bets? Gene > Linda, et al : It is a long time between 1786 [Reuben's > birth] and 2005 or, more specifically ca. 1925 [Nolan's > birthdate?]. Lots of time to figure out the mutations > and when they occurred.
