James Hardin's message states: "Benjamin Nicholson QUEEN, b. May 6, 1831; d. January 6, 1908 Jackson Co., NC; m. November 8, 1855 Mary Catherine CARSON d. February 8, 1908." That reminded me of something I found on the census films that may be of interest to those with Carson lineage. The 1830 Rutherford County census includes a division under John Carson. The last page of this section has his signature as "Assistant to the Marshal of the U. S. District of North Carolina". He is my four great grandfather and I think it's kind of neat to see his name in his own hand. --Phil Minch--
