    1. [QUEEN] QUEEN Question
    2. I know there are two lines of Queen's. Those from Scotland who migrated to Maryland descendants of Samuel Queen and later arrivals from Ireland who went to Virginia descendants of Charles Queen. It also appears that those who went to KY from Maryland were Catholic. What I don't know is which group went to N. Carolina and when did the Protestant group form? Were they also from Maryland or were they the Queens from VA?? Just curious, Sue ?Sue ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. 1. Re: [QUEEN] QUEEN Question
    2. Rolla Queen
    3. Actually Sue, there are 4 different groups of Queens that we think we have confirmed, each apparently having no known connection to the other despite being in close proximity in certain areas. These groups are, and please correct me if I am wrong. Old William Queen, Virginia, born about 1720 (core group seems to center around Rutherford County NC) Charles Queen, Maryland, born 1752 (also known as the Gnatty Creek Queens of West Virginia - Please correct me if I am wrong) Samuel Queen, Maryland, born in the 1600s, perhaps also known as the Washington Queens, notably chronicled in the genealogy of Charles Jerningham Queen. Francis Queen, Rowan/Iredell County, NC, first appears about 1778, probably born by mid 1750s or earlier. We will call these the Brushy Mountain Queens. There are also several individual Queens in the DNA study who do not fall into one of the above groups, and we are still looking for additional donors on those lines to help define better where they originate. Everyone - please correct me if I am wrong and elaborate before this gets out on the web as fact!!!!!
