    3. I agree completely. I, too have a hard time accepting the fact our clan was originally Catholic but am willing to accept whatever the records show. Perhaps Charles changed his name because 1) He was running from the law (and had money to purchase the land possibly thru another person). This might be thru the UK law and not necessarily American law. Perhaps he was trying to not appear to be Scottish and changed his name for that reason., 2) He had a rift with his father/family and changed his name out of anger. If this is the case then the key might be to see if anyone from the Maryland Queen's disappeared about the same time as Charles appeared in WV. Someone the same age, wife the same age, etc. IF Charles and his son and wife were making all these trips back and forth to the UK as legend dictates then some type of record should exist for at least one of the trips. ========== Begin forwarded message: > From: "billycurtisjr@tnni.net" <billycurtisjr@tnni.net> > Date: July 6, 2007 12:04:46 PM EDT > To: papanohair@mac.com, QUEEN-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: RE: [QUEEN] Fwd: Charles Queen > > Skip, > > I am in agreement with you on this.
