Surnames: Queen Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.queen/569.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, Gene. The information I've seen would include a William Lewis Queen, Jr. and a Meredith Queen (my particular ancestor). I've seen controversy regarding whether William Lewis Queen, Sr.'s wife was Margaret Meredith and feel that naming a son Meredith (called Mereday) somewhat confirms it. There is information regarding the family in Rutherford County, N.C. records - land sales, wills, etc. You can access that through Genweb, I believe. William Lewis Queen's family moved to Golden Valley and owned land on the First Broad River and his father, William Queen, was buried there in Golden Valley Cemetary. I was raised in Golden Valley, in Rutherford County, N.C., but didn't know that that was where the family originally settled until I started doing genealogy because my grandfather was born and raised in Cleveland County, N.C. next to Rutherford County. I think James H. in 1794 would have been born too late to be William Lewis Sr.'s son - maybe he was Jr.'s son? Debra Queen O'Connell Lexington, KY
