I just finished reading "Bridges to the Past", published by the Genealogical Society of Old Tryon County. The book is in two parts, Volume I and Volume II for a total of more than 700 pages. It is comprised of a series of newspaper articles on genealogy of the Old Tryon County area, published in the Forest City This Week newspaper between 1969 and 1978. Volume I P 115 Mt. Moriah Methodist Church - northwest Cleveland County, NC - cemetery contains graves of 19 marked CSA soldiers. One is William Queen, Company G, 16th NC Infantry, CSA. P 123 RCNC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions: Jan 1785. William Louis Queen was drawn as a Grand Juror. P 137 RCNC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions: April 1801. Letters of Administration issued to Stephen Hogue on the goods, chattels, rights and credits of William Queen, Sen., dec'd. William Carson security on bond. P 138 RCNC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions: April 1803. The court appointed William McFarland, Adam Whiteside, and Walter Carson a committee to settle with the Adm's of Steven Hogue, dec'd., on the Estate of William Queen, Sr., dec'd. P165 Jane Newton, b 17 Jan 1777 married [no first name given] Queen. She was the daughter of Capt. Benjamin Newton & Nancy McCall. They moved to RCNC about 1800 (present Clover Hill area of Cleveland Co. NC). Another daughter, Ruth, married Laban Queen, Sr. A granddaughter, Patsy Goins, married Charlie Queen. P 166 Cynthia Goins, daughter of Nancy McCall Newton (b 22 Sep 1795) and Daniel Goins, married John Queen. P 241 The will of William Grayson (Book E, pp 77-78 RCNC) lists two legatees: his son Benjamin Grayson and his daughter Patsy Queen. Volume II P 4 The grave of Meredith Queen, Company C, 1st NC Artillery, CSA, is located "near Leonard Newton's". P 86 Lurany Queen married Charles Thompson in Lincoln County, NC (the present day Buffalo Creek area of Cleveland County). P 268 Book Review of "The Annals of Haywood County, NC 1808-1935. Historical, Sociological, Biographical and Genealogical", by W C Allen discusses more than 70 families and includes Queen. There may be other citations. I found these using the index.
