Looking through some notes I had posted on the Queen list I saw a error in an old post. I didn't pick up the date ,but my message was as follows Mitch I'm answering your email on the Queen List as others may have an interest. Yes the Queen Road in Golden Valley was named for the John Queen who lived on the road ,we were neighbors. He was called "Brier Creek " John Queen To identify him from another John Queen a closer neighbor to me than Brier Creek John. This second John was called "One Eyed" John Queen. for the obvious reason the name insinuates and for identification also. I live between the two John Queens.MY ERROR is Brier Creek John Queen was also called "One eyed "John Queen, He is the John the road was named for as stated. The second John Queen I mentioned was called Stiff Arm John Queen. Each John was called their name for obvious reasons and for identification . I think I cleared that in another post but no mention of the error. > I will add a bit to my statement All the names on Brier Creek that had another person in Golden Valley by the same name were identified in such manner. Such as Brier Creek Avery Towery or Brier Creek John Johnson. Or Brier Creek George Brackett. There were three Julous Melton's lived here and near the same vacinity. So there was ...Big Jule ...Little Jule ...and Horse swapping Jule. With such discrtiptive names there was NARY a doubt as to whom you were addressing. Our grand children do likewise.MY grandson had a Grandmom and a Granddad then he had a Pa and Little Gran a Big Grandad and Big Grandmom He also had a Granny. No doubt as to whom he was speaking of although he had both sets of grand parents and one and a half sets of Great grand parents. My post is a bit long but I'm correcting an erroe and giving one glimpse or a small birds eye view of Golden Valley.Things here aren't always how the "City slickers " do their thing.
