    1. [QUEEN] Jackson County Heritage Vol II
    2. O Eugene Queen
    3. 'twas the night before Christmas and the Queen List remained almost silent.....as has been the case for months on end now. Perhaps it could be of interest to some that the subject volume is now in print. But, a word of warning: In the article concerning Alfred Queen of 1810, someone has written this: "Research evidence suggests that Alfred's father may well have been the Samuel Queen (b. ca 1776-1780) listed on the Haywood County census of 1820 and 1830 and that his grandfather was the Joseph Queen (b. ca 1740) living next door to Samuel in 1830. It appears likely that Alfred was one of the children in the Samuel Queen household of the 1820 census." That someone, me, has since come to believe that there was a relationship between the Joseph and Samuel, but that the relationship was probably not father/son. Hopefully, future researchers will work that and other clues and will have better luck in correctly linking the Haywood and Macon County Queens of the 1800's. Merry Christmas to all! Gene
