    1. [QUEEN] Scotch, Bourbon, Irish and More (or Less)
    2. O Eugene Queen
    3. Hi Don and all, Regarding Don's comment: The first clue is, as we all know, Scotch is a drink, the people as a group are Scots. Gene's response: Scotch-Irish...are both are mighty fine when treated responsibly. Nothing wrong with Bourbon and Irish either on a cold winter evening. Is there a Mellow Yellow-Irish? Okay, gang. Isn't it about time we dig out the old files and start beating the bushes again to tie up some of the thousand and one loose ends? I still want to know why Mary Queen Hemphill was in Haywood County, the Scots Creek area, in 1820. Was she really the daughter of William? Why did my Alfred come back from Cocke Co., TN to live near Mary's son (or grandson?) Nulin in 1860? Kin? Why was my Samuel listed on the 1830 Haywood County, NC census next to Joseph Queen (and Rev War William reportedly living with Joseph)? Kin? How close? And just which Samuel was it who was the bondsman for Timothey Queen and Mary Ann State in Haywood in 1816? Samuel who married Dicey or Samuel the pa of my Alfred? What position does one take and why? And who was that Timothey Queen? How about a son of the Samuel who served as bondsman? Why or why not? Then, there's the Montgomery census of 1810. The ages of the kids of S. Queen too closely match the kids of Samuel Queen of 1820 Haywood to be an accident. Or do they? Those are a few of my questions and research challenges. What are some of other members of Queen-L? Yes, the annual torture called operating budgets is over for this year and I have about 9 months before.....wait a minute. 9 months before BUDGET season begins again. Okay, I be quiet for a bit. Don't want to clutter up e-mails again with my ramblings. But, let's hear something from the gang. My mailbox is empty waiting for some new "stuff". Happy New Year! Gene
