Carol, Mandy and I had come to the conclusion that John Queen & Mary Campbell are the parents of James Campbell Queen b. 1819 in Georgia and Elizabeth Ann Queen b. 1820 in Mississippi. I guess it would be possible if he was born between 1816 & 1819. In which case he could have been a brother of the above two. Of course, this is an awful lot of "possibility" and NO proof <grin>. I have a death certificate for William (son of James Campbell Queen) on which it states that William's father is James Campbell Queen born in Georgia. However, on the 1860 census of Wayne Co., TN, James C. Queen's birthplace is given as TN., but at that time he is with a second wife and was probably recently married to her and chances are she gave the info. I believe that since the son of William listed his grandad's birthplace as Georgia, there had to be a reason. If nothing else, it would indicate that James C. had some tie to the Georgia Queens. We have dug into records in Maury Co., Lincoln Co. and Wayne Co., TN and only found a few records of John in Maury Co. Here is what we found. Civil War Record Served in Captain McMahan's Co. war of 1812 Maury Co.,TN Pvt. TN Vol Mtd Gunmen May 1814 Maury Co TN Co Court Records: John Quinn appointed a hand to John Edmundson to oversee Rock Creek Rd from Fountain Creek to Josh Glovers 1816 Lincoln Co., TN John Queen land grant, 15 acres, G district, bk m. p 604 (Lincoln) #9198 April 30, 1816 Maury Co., TN Married Mary (Polly) Campbell Their son James Campbell Queen married Priscilla Jobe. Priscilla's family were located in Lincoln Co., TN and that was the reason we checked those court records and found the land record for John. There is the possibility that John was married previously and had children from that marriage. If you have any other info on him, I sure would love to see it. Carol Q.
