    1. [QUEEN] Civil War Info and Such
    2. James Grant
    3. Sorry for being so late in responding to the call for all Queen-L subscribers to identify themselves and their line. Been out of town for an extended time and am just now ripping through several hundred e-mails. My name is James M. Grant. Maternal grandmother is Mandy Queen b. 1908(living), daughter of Joseph Wilburn Queen(1887-1973) and Martha Owen, JW "Wib"'s parents were Jeptha Queen (1845-1911)and Lucinda Bracken, Jeptha's parent's were Americus H. Queen (1820-1900) and Mary Parker, Americus' parents were William B. Queen(1796-1887) and Mary Nicholson, William's parents were Samuel Queen (1759-1842) and Dicey Rolls, Samuel's parents were William Queen(1716-1801) and Margaret Lewis. Recently I was looking for info on my gggrandfather Grant's 4 brothers who all served the Confederacy and came across the following info, name:Americus H. Queen, county enlisted:Jackson, NC, date of enlistment: 7 Feb 1864, rank:Corporal, enlisting unit: "B" Co., 25th NC Infantry no other info was listed. We know he survived the war because he died in 1900 Also listed was another Queen who had to be related because he was from Jackson County as well though I have no info on him other than what I saw. Name: John B. Queen, county enlisted: Jackson, NC:, date of enlistment:30 May 1861, age at enlistment: 25, rank: Private, enlisting unit: "B" Co., 25th NC Infantry It also states he was killed in battle at Malvern Hill, VA on 1 Jul 1862. Anybody have any info on who John B,'s family was? Thought this might be interesting since it is related to recent goings on here on the old Queen-L. Regards, James
