    3. Hello Queen List! I've been a subscriber for quite a while, and have enjoyed the recent flourish of activity. Just keep hoping the buzzers will sound and I'll see the missing links I need to tie into all these other NC Queens! I'm responding at this time because I keep looking for a link to Carol's Stephen Queen or the George Washington Queen she mentioned in her post. My brick wall is Hence Queen who was listed in the 1850 Rabun County GA census with wife Nancy (York) and children Jerry I (Jeremiah?) and Mary A. In 1860, Nancy was listed as widow in Cherokee County NC with 5 children: Jerry 18, Mary 11, Harvey 9, Jane 5, and Jonas 2. My ancestor is Jonas (Hinsey Jonas) who died in 1935 and is buried in Holly Springs Cemetery, Marietta GA. Based on census info, I place Hence' birth year at 1823. Is it possible Stephen Queen and Hence Queen were brothers? In the 1980s I interviewed Elda and Beulah Queen, both granddaughters of GWQ above. They remembered Uncle Jonas as he was called, but thought he was probably a cousin rather than an uncle. I've tried to locate descendants of Jonas' sibllings, but no success there either. As I recall, Jonas' sister Mary married Jesse P.F. Anderson in 1873, and Sarah J(ane) married Theiron Cheek in 1878. Jeremiah Queen married Margaret McFalls in 1874, and J.N. Queen (Harvey?) married D.O. McFalls in 1881. Jonas married Lou Martin in 1879. All of these marriages took place in Clay County NC. Rita Queen Bartmess
