His wife, Laura [QUEEN], was born in North Carolina in 1817. In 1850, the Garner family was living in what was then McNairy co, TN. They lived in the northwest part of this county and this particular section became part of Chester co when it was formed in 1875. In 1850, the children of the Garner family were: Mary Ann, 1835; Henry, 1837, Calaway, 1838; Sarah, 1840; Noah Z., 1842; Laticia, 1843; George, 1845; Elizabeth, 1846; and Reubin 1848. All of these children were born in Tennessee. There is no evidence that Noah and Laura Garner ever came to Greene co, however it is known that at least some of the children came. Noah Garner Sr. is buried at the Cave Spring cemetery in Chester co, TN and his tombstone shows dates of Oct. 25, 1813 and June 25, 1889. The stone for his wife, Laura, shows dates of Jan. 12, 1817 and May 22, 1875. Other members of the Garner family are also buried at Cave Spring cemetery. Any information on John Winston Verner, b. N.C., married Cindy Satterfield, in 1880 Polk Co. Census ; Abner Chastain who married America QUEEN before 1870, and William Humphreys, married to Charity McDaniel, in 1880 Polk co. Year 1850 U.S. Census; Scott County, Arkansas; Age 14. Possibly married Samuel QUEEN in Scott County, Arkansas: Courthouse burned: Records lost forever: Listed as Cyndia in Scott County, Arkansas, we could not imagine how to pronouce the name. She had a sister Cynthia. I had found a Samuel QUEEN on the Hill County census nearby Eliza Locklear, the year 1860. Birth date and Illinois made me keep it in our files. He had a wife "Sidney". Many months after finding this. J.R. finds an add in a book. A lady in Midland looking for John Locklear and Burcham families of Hill County, Texas 1860. A phone call anxiously placed did indeed come up with a listing for Dessie Knox. She had placed the add 1977, and had long since given up on any response. She knew somehow the two families were connected. She had a page from an aunt's journal, written many years ago, Locklears had a daughter named Sidna. Sidney married Samuel QUEEN. Several children were listed with her, and so now we are diggin' for QUEEN information. We need to find this family in 1870. 1880. 1900. 1910. Lots of things to find yet. Year 1996, I hear that one Sidney was married to a Smith and then a Morrow. She quite possibly is buried nearby Marble Falls or thereabouts. I am going to pursue this also. Much to dig on our history yet. Syndia L. Locklear QUEEN 'Sidney' and Samuel QUEEN had the following children: 86 i. Elizabeth J.4 QUEEN was born in Scott County, Arkansas circa 1850. 87 ii. Mary L.
