One of these was Kezziah, who married a John Queen [no dates in cousin's notes]. (I'm descended from her sister, Margaret Emeline (1829-1917) who married John Lebo Snyder.) William did marry a second time and have four more children, but I don't have those notes at hand. otoh, article 1141 in the Jackson County Heritage Book (p.401) gives Kizziah (Kiziah)'s husband as James S(mith) Queen. No mention of a Herman, but his generation really isn't covered in the article. I'm here because John and Margaret Snyder's son, George, married Mary Ann (Polly) Queen. One of George and Polly's grandchildren was my paternal grandmother, Virginia Snyder (Whitaker) (1908-1958). Elizabeth Whitaker ELWHITAKER@ftc-i.net

    3. Recently I emailed the list about an entry I found on a web page regarding my Hamptons (1796 NC>IN>IA, married Hannah Williams) siblings. I emailed the author, and he advised me that this was his father-in-laws information and I would need to write him. So I wrote this man. This kind gentleman sent me 17 pages of data on the Carolina Queens. It will take more correspondence before I figure out how much is speculation and how much is documented. But the awesome part of the story is that he has gathered all this without a clue whether he is descended from this line, and has shared it on the chance that it may help me with my search. So here is his line. He sent me 30 some pages on what he has documented! I am in awe at the history of his family that he felt free to share with me. And then add to it that gentlemen is 79. If you can help, please email me or the list. Thanks. 1) William David Queen Sr born 1/5/1870 in San Angelo Texas. Married Liz Bearden Nov. 7 1885 in Eastland Texas. 2) William L "King" Queen born about 1853 in Texas, died Apr 6 1900. 1. [QUEEN] Jane Henson Queen ?
    2. I stumbled upon this info the other day and I'm not sure what I have. Is this just the same old info coming around again or is it independent evidence that Timothy MacQueens wife was indeed named Henson? (firmly establishing the parentage of "Old William") I don't know what all the abbreviations mean, are they sources and if so, how reliable? Notice that there is no reference to the published work about Katherine Queen being the first wife of WIlliam, instead it refers to Maragret Queen as Katherines AKA. No mention is made of the bapismal records of William and his brother John or of the subsequent remarriage of Jane MacQueen. All this leads me to hope that this source has reached an independent opinion. I've written back to the author asking for more, keep your fingers crossed. 1. [QUEEN] Update
    2. Diann williams
    3. Hi All: I have been away for a while for various reasons; my father's death, estate mess, flu and new job. I do check my email every few days though. It has been some time so I would like to explain about the recent posting "step 2", I forwarded to the Queen List. Linda and Dixie found an old Queen grave yard in a pasture. headstones had been knocked down by cows, it has been trampled and overgrown with trees and such. They started work on the restoration of this Queen Cemetery. I made a donation toward supplies needed to clean the cemetery up and fence it in to keep the livestock out. (I know what I donated wasn't much. Wish it could have done more.) Anyway, the posting I have submitted to the Queen list is an update for that project. The Queen's started several hundred years ago with one family coming to the states and branching out. I might only have one molecule in me that is related to those Queen's. But we are Queen's and one of the traits of the Queen's is "giving a helping hand". I was glad to be of some (little) help. Diann Queen Williams "happiness begins within ones self"

Katy came by for a few minutes, but her health is not such that she can work. I was delighted to meet her. She provided a great deal of my first information about the Queens when I began my research. . Winslow did a great job of trimming out trees and branches that were in the way. Billy put a chain and tow strap and pulled the larger ones away, and put some smaller ones out and away. I did a lot of trimming with the pruners and dragging and tossing of brush the guys cut with the chain saw. Melanie and her crew put up the fence. It is not perfect, but to me it is beautiful. They all worked very hard, and from the time they arrived until they left, I don't think anyone sat down. I had to practically beg them to have juice or tea and bagels and fruit to give them sustenance. One can actually see from side to side of the cemetery now. There is still much to be done, but we are proud of what we accomplished in one day. Basking in that glow, we went home weary but happy. Linda --------------693575DA9CA169AE69085D81--

    1. [QUEEN] NC Death Records
    2. Carol Queen
    3. Hi all, I got to play around with some NC Death Records and have come across about 200 Queens in our counties. Most of these folks were born about 1900-1930 and died 1988-1990. Here are some of the ones that I thought might be of interest to the group. Some of these have social security numbers and other info, but I don't think what's listed is helpful to a researcher (things like how many beds in the hospital, etc). If you want a SS# let me know. Carol QUEEN, HUGH HENSON B. 4-22-1910 d. 1 10 1988 Asheville, Buncombe, NC married MARTIN, PANSY QUEEN b. 4 21 1911 d 1 7 1988 Shelby, Cleveland, NC maiden name:Queen QUEEN, JOHN WESLEY b. 5 29 1904 d 1 15 1988 Rutherfordton, Rutherford, NC QUEEN, WILLIAM GEORGE b 10 3 1924 d 3 22 1988 Canton, Haywood, NC QUEEN, LARANZA EDWARDS b. 11 1 1929 d 4 9 1988 male Charlotte, Mecklenburg, NC QUEEN, JOHN REID b. 2 6 1916 d 5 6 1988 Place of occurance Buncombe, NC Place of residence McDowell, NC QUEEN, LEWIS HARLEY b 8 1 1902 d 6 21 1988 Haywood, NC BURLESON, TEXIE ANN b 9 7 1901 d 9 8 1988 Mitchell, NC Father's surname: Queen QUEEN, ROBERT PRESSLEY b 11 6 1906 d 9 23 1988 Cleveland, NC QUEEN, LORA ALICE b 10 6 1908 d 12 4 1988 Race: Indian Jackson, NC Fathers surname: LAMBERT QUEEN, ADDIE MELISSA b 9 17 1899 d 2 8 1989 Andrews, Cherokee, NC Fathers surname: PALMER QUEEN JR., FORREST EUGENE b 7 7 1917 d 3 2 1989 Morganton, Burke, Nc QUEEN, CALLIE LORENE b 5 1 1903 d 8 12 1989 Jackson, NC Fathers surname: BROOM QUEEN, MINNIE LEDFORD b 3 14 1902 d 11 17 1989 Gaston, NC Fathers surname LEDFORD QUEEN, DORA ANN b 7 31 1893 d 12 2 1989 Canton, Haywood, NC Fathers surname: DALTON QUEEN, MARY LOU b 9 28 1934 d 12 29 1989 Cherokee, NC' Fathers surname: HICKEY BUTLER, MATTIE QUEEN b 6 9 1922 d 12 30 1989 Rutherford, NC Fathers surname: QUEEN That's it for now, I still have alot more to go through. I've only listed the ones that I was able to find in my database, with incomplete info-or the ones with names that we have seen tied into the Queens on a regular basis. This Samuel isn't on my cousin's list of "my" Samuel Queen's (b. ca. 1785) children. However, I'm fairly sure I've seen Harmon Queen's grave in Jackson Co., NC. (Jackson was created in 1851.)
