    1. [QUEEN] Laban Queen, ? son of Meredith Queen
    2. Reiley Kidd
    3. I believe that Meredith Queen (abt 1774 GA - aft. 1860, NC) and his wife Jane Newton Queen (1777-bet. 1850-1860) had at least three sons: Charles, John and Laban. Charles was born abt. 1805, and John abt. 1806, according to census records. My only clue so far for Meredith and Jane being parents of Laban Queen is the fact that Meredith witnessed the marriage bond between Laban Queen and Mary Ann Newton in 1845. Judging from the ages of the other boys, this Laban may have married earlier, and this is possibly his second (or later) marriage. I have in my notes something about an obituary for this Laban Queen, but nothing from the obituary itself. Laban's presumed brother, John Queen, had a son named Laban, born in 1845, who served in the Civil War along with his brothers Meredith and Joseph. There IS a 1935 obituary for this Laban, but it doesn't name his parents or uncles. CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THE LABAN QUEEN WHO MARRIED MARY ANN NEWTON? Thanks, Reiley Kidd Seattle

The Ancestral File lists the following lineage: 1. Henry Queen, b. 17 May 1827. 2. Henry Caleb Queen, b.4 Jul 1851 or 4 Jul 1871, depending on which record you consult. 3. Basyle Franklin Queen, b.abt 23 Oct 1896. The 1851 date would make Henry Caleb 45 years when Basyle was born. On the other hand, the 1871 date would mean that Henry was 44 when Henry Caleb was born. Neither date is impossible, but neither does one seem more likely than the other. Which is it? Or were there two Henry Calebs? Thanks, Anna

This area in 1790 was Washington Co., TN. On this 1790 map of NC there is a notation about a small part of NC right between future Carter Co, TN and then Wilkes Co, NC. It says: When TN as the Southwest Territory was separated from NC in early 1790, a small parrt of TN's Washington Co. remained in NC and was statutorily outside any NC Co during the 1790 census. Whether this sparsely populated area was enumerated was not determined. Mandy
