Queen listed as a housekeeper for Meredy Queen.  It said she was born about 1841 in Miss.  I took this to be a female.  Is this the same as William Allen and if not, who is W.A. Queen on this census.  Thanks for the information. Wendy

    3. Mandy and others -- I have done a little research about my ancestor Francis Queen. I have a copy of the info from his "will" as well as his wife, Margaret. My ancestor is their daughter, Mary(Polly). She married Samuel Correll and they moved on with their daughter and family to Sullivan Co. IND (where they are buried). I have a couple of puzzling questions perhaps someone can answer. Margaret Queen (wife of Francis) lists in her will that she had personal property at the home of James McBroom in Tennessee. How are the Queens related to this James McBroom? Also, when my Mary and Samuel Correll followed their daughter to IND I have found another probable relative of the Queens who I cannot place. Mary Queen and Samuel Correll's grandson and wife moved on to Harrison Co. MO. Living right next to them in the 1860 census is a Johnson Queen, born 1797 in Tennessee. Living with him was a woman named Arcunette (sp?) born 1821 in North Carolina. There were many children living with them who were all born in IND. Can anyone place this Johnson Queen? 1. [QUEEN] Queen/Jones relation
    2. O.K. family this is the other e-mail that I sent which doesn't seem to have come through. If it has this is a duplicate. If not, here it is. I really need help. Francis Adeline Queen married (William) Thomas Jones on July 25 1861 in Tippah County Missouri. She is the daughter of Maraday Queen. I have no clue to William Thomas' parents. The bond for the marriage was put up by Thomas Jones and John Jones. I can't figure out the relationship. I found one record which lists the birth of a Thomas Jones about 1843 in Davie Co. North Carolina . Those parents were listed as Pleasant L. Jones and the mother as Mary. William Thomas went throughout his life only known as Thomas. That is what is on his marriage certificate and his death certificate which is from Marathon County, Wisconsin. Help, help help family. Also have we verified who the father of George Queen is? and also the family of George Queen and Nancy Elizabeth "Betsy" McCall Newton. THeir childrens names. Thaks for all answers to any of the above information. You are definitely all super stars. I am amazed at all the little tidbits of information you have. Can't wait to hear. Please someone have some of my answers. Wendy

    2. O.K. Family. This is the 4th time I have tried sending this message. We have switched computers and on my MSn it said this message has been sent. However, I didn't get a copy on my A.O.L. so I assuming none of you did either so I am retyping it. Bear with me if it already came through: otherwise here is my request once again. With all the focus on Tn. Tell my why my branch moved there? Maraday Queen and his wife Sarah Lavinia Summey moved to Tippah county(earlier known as Benton County), Mississippi. along with a brother and their parents George Queen and Nancy Elizabeth "Betsy" McCall Newton (also known as Mary on some letters). However, from there they moved to Hardeman Co., Tenn. In fact, both Maraday and his second wife Winnifred A. Neal died and were buried in Grand Junction, Hardeman co., Tenn. Apparently on the 1900 census Maraday and Winnifred lived with a Walter Maraday Queen. However, their father George Queen married his second wife Caroline Winnifred Griffin on Jan 31 1859 in Fayette County, Tn. Please help fill in the blanks as to why. Thanks and have a super day. You are all super stars. Wendy

Hi List members, Not trying to be a smart ass or anything but could we get some clarification on place names for some of us that don't know that you are not talking about Pennsylvania or a dozen other places that happen to have the same names of Union County, Bethlehem, or Philadelphia Cities. I enjoy the discussions on here. 1. [QUEEN] Re: Henry Caleb Queen
    2. Kenneth L. Dyer
    3. Your Henry Caleb Queen does not appear in the household of his parents in the 1860 census of Wayne County or in the 1870 census of Lincoln County. [In 1870 the southern tip of Wayne County had been temporarily attached to Lincoln County.] In the 1880 census of Wayne county I found Henry C. Queen, age 8, listed among the children of Henry and Molly Queen. Had July 4, 1871 have been his date of birth he would have been age 8 on June 1 1880, the census day - a perfect match for your later date. The 1851 date had probably been a copy error. The book by Paul Dyer on descendants of John Queen gives the correct date of July 4, 1871. Ken ----- Original Message ----- ------------------------------ X-Message: #4 Date: Fri, 19 Jan 2001 22:44:34 -0500 From: Jeff Drake <familyhistory@mac.com> To: QUEEN-L@rootsweb.com Message-Id: <B68E73D1.8A7%familyhistory@mac.com> Subject: [QUEEN] Henry Caleb Queen -------------------------------- Got a slight problem here. My wife and I know that Henry Caleb QUEEN is the father of Basyle Franklin QUEEN. We also know that he (Henry) is the son of Henry QUEEN and Mary ³Molly² BELCHER. We even know that Henry was born on the fourth of July in Wayne co., (West) Virginia; we just don¹t know what year. (Henry would later marry Armenta HAGAR on 2 Dec 1892, but we still don¹t know when he was born!) Paying a visit to various web sites has only confused the matter. Some sources say Henry C. was born on 4 Jul 1851, others say 4 Jul 1871. So which is it? Either one fit into the lineage! Help! Thanks in advance, Jeff

    3. Hi Phil, The e-mail address appears most unsual, thus I am copying QUEEN-L in the hopes that you will receive this response. I must say that I like your humor, "My research could best be described as theft of services...". My wife refuses to do any further research on one side of her family after finding out that their ancestors were not allowed on the Ark with Noah. Even worse, she recently learned that the reason she cannot locate ancestors on the other side of her family is that Cain killed Abel, her only link to Adam. Would love for you to share a bit of info concerning your more elder ancestors, dates, states, etc. Many of us have "Theft of Services" files as well...and sometimes the data in those files help to clear up great mysteries. Thanks, Gene
