    1. Henson and Nancy York Queen
    2. Blanche Wallace
    3. Thanks, Rita and Paulette for the warm welcome. I'm very excited to have found you and the List. Unfortunately, I never had much contact after childhood with the grandchildren of Mary Ann Queen, other than my grandmother. So, I am not familiar with Mary Ann Queen Anderson's story, other than the family lore that says she and Jesse Anderson moved with their children from NC to GA via covered wagon. I don't know the year. I will have a copy of Mary Ann and Jesse's marriage certificate after Thanksgiving, if anyone would like a copy. In regard to Mary Ann's descendents, here is what I know about Lula Anderson, my great-grandmother. Lula Anderson married William Joseph Hall in Cherokee County, GA on 16 October 1892. I am hoping to obtain a copy of the marriage certificate the next time I am in north GA (I live in Central Florida). Lula (1873-1955) and William Hall (1866-1952) had nine children (6 daughters and 3 sons). Their names were: Eunice (known as June) Hall, Ann Hall, Jesse Hall, Mildred Hall, Blanche Lola Hall, Carl William Hall, Ralph E. Hall and George D. Hall. My grandmother, Blanche Lola Hall (1898 - 1991), married Luther Cleveland Greene (1895-1968) on 10 Nov 1915 in Cartersville, GA. Their children were: Lurlene Rosalie Greene (my mother) 1916-1999, Luther Cleveland Greene, Jr. (1918 - living) and Dedrick Barnard Greene (1920-2004) - all born in Bartow County, GA. Blanche and Luther moved to Central Florida about 1923. Lurlene Rosalie Greene married Clyde Eugene Wallace (1908-1971) on 27 Nov 1940 in Marietta, GA. They had me and a son, Luther Kelly Wallace. I have 2 daughters: Ann Thornburg and Bonnie Streeter. Ann has a daughter, Danielle Marie Peeler. So, I can happily relate some history on 8 generatiions of women in a direct line from Nancy York Queen, which I plan to do through a Heritage Album for my daughters and granddaughter. I'd be thrilled to be able to go back further. I have more details, such as names of spouses of some of Blanche Hall's siblings, birth and death dates. Just let me know what to send and if I should post to the list or privately to those who are looking for the information. Can anyone help me with the following? Does anyone have a birth date or place of birth for Nancy York? I have seen TN on census records, but don't have any idea which county. Finding a picture of Mary Ann Queen Anderson and Nancy Queen York for the Heritage Album is a great wish of mine. Does anyone have one they could copy for me? I actually have a photo from my grandmother's house that was discovered after her death. It is of an unknown female from about the late 1800s - early 1900s that might be Mary Ann. Is there anyone on the list who could recognize her? Best regards, Blanche

    3. Hi Blanche, Unless, I missed something in an earlier message, which is certainly possible, you may be barking off a vestigial arm of my family tree. Unless one of the other groups is claiming you, perhaps we should talk further. But in the meantime, and with a few liberties, might I propose that the Jesse Anderson you are after was the son of Samuel Anderson and Lucrecia Stanley. I have notes that Jesse was born about 1800, but no further information on his descendants, or who he married, but it is certainly likely that he married a Queen, since some of his Anderson siblings also married into the Queen family. A whole parcel of Andersons and Queens packed up and moved to Georgia in the mid 1850s. Some of these were descedants of Francis Queen's second son Joseph, and some of his descendants are on the Queen list. Perhaps if we put our heads together we can piece together this branch of the tree with Jesse as a starting point. And I might add, Ireland was awesome, but I am glad to be back, exhausted, but glad!! 3. I met Lois Queen in Austin TX in 1988. Her (deceased) husband was John Alton Queen, born circa 1931 in Cleburne, TX. His sister was Mrs. Bill Sheffield and 1988 was living in Odessa? Their father was Robert Newton Queen, born in Copper Hill, Tennessee, his wife was May, his brother was Will Queen. Does this ring a bell? Katy My father told a story of visiting family in Copperhill TN in the 1920s. Dad's family lived in North GA, but was originally from Cherokee and Clay Counties, NC. (Cherokee County is on the NC/TN border.) I have been to Copperhill TN looking for Queen connections, and in the early-to-mid 1980s there was a Queen Furniture Store in Copperhill; however, efforts to contact the owners were unsuccessful. There is a Will Queen buried in Noonday Church Cemetery in Canton GA. Could this be the Will of your message? Rita

    3. There are too many William Queens to keep track of. This is the one in the current conversation: William Allen Queen, Jr. born September 8, 1837 - died October 4, 1915 His death certificate lists birth year as 1835, but I think great grandpa was wrong when he gave the info to the clerk. wife Lou Cinda Rucker 1/2/1837 - 2/18/1908 four sons: 1. Moses James Queen 10/1862 - 5/31/1920 wife Rhoda Adeline Vess 3/1860 - 1939 three adopted children 2. William Francis Queen 8/1865 - 7/22/1943 wife Rosey Etta Burgin 3/1869 - ? one natural child, one guardianship 3. Aden Rucker Queen 12/22/1867 - 1/14/1944 (my line) wife Martha Roenia Watkins twelve children 4. Alfred Newton Queen 11/28/1867 - 3/26/1948 wife Martha Jane Davis 1/25/1871 - 1/20/1941 eight children His father was, of course, William Allen Queen Sr. c. 1804 - bef 1880. WAQ Sr is the PRESUMED son of James Queen, son of William Lewis Queen Sr. You may have been thinking I meant William Lewis Queen Jr. in my reply to Betty. --Phil Minch-- ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: "Minch & Kartholl" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 09, 2005 8:12 PM Subject: Re: [QUEEN] Who is this Juilous Queen ? > I'm confused.
