    3. PRDH-IGD has many "certificates" that mention religious events at Ste. Anne de Detroit.  What it does not have is full information, once the baptism, marriage, or burial is listed.  They had to use a transcription of the original records, not the originals; which are preserved at the Chancery of the Archdiocese of Detroit.  It was photocopied by the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints (Mormons), and is available on Ancestry.  A microfilm is available at the Burton Library of the Detroit Public Library. This appears to correspond with my experience, in that data on ancestors that moved to French settlements in Ontario, especially the Detroit River region does not appear in the PRDH. However, I have just found an entry in the PRDH that has an ancestor married in Ste-Anne-de-Detroit, and buried in Pays-d-en-Haut. If anyone else has come across either of these references in the PRDH I would very much appreciate knowing to which parishes they refer so I can obtain the actual record from the Quebec parish registers on the FamilySearch site. _ ------------------------------ Subject: Digest Footer To contact the %(real_name)s list administrator, send an email to %(real_name)[email protected] To post a message to the Quebec-Research mailing list -- [email protected], send an email to %(real_name)[email protected] __________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to %(real_name)[email protected]%(host_name)s with the word "unsubscribe" without the quotes in the subject and the body of the email with no additional text. ------------------------------ End of Quebec-Research Digest, Vol 13, Issue 114 ************************************************
