I just looked and it says We’re making updates that may impact your Ancestry experience. Certain features on Ancestry will have reduced functionality or may not be supported when using Internet Explorer 8 or 9. Check out the _recommended browsers_ (http://ancestryca.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/469/) for more information. So the mistake is INTERNET EXPLORER 8 or 9. It has nothing to do with the computer software at all. Here is the email I responded to. What do you all think of Ancestry.com's notice that after October you will have to buy a windows 7 or 8 computer in order to use their program correctly? Looks to me like they don't care if you use their programs or not. I think I will probably move on. I had read the notice before and forgot I looked at the recommended browsers and I can't install Internet Explorer 11 because it's too new for my computer but I have Foxfire and it works fine and will remain working.
