    2. If your area of interest is the State of New York, there are a couple resources out there for newspapers as well. There is the Northern New York Library Network and a website called Fulton History. Both have online copies of old newspapers. The ranges vary but roughly cover two centuries from what I can tell. They changed their website addresses from when I first saw them but they should be easy to find using Google.
