Thanks Unc and Bertrand for your cautions. I've gotten emails before which I could tell came from a hijacked email contact list. They usually have no subject line and just a link. This was was different. It actually had text in the email that sort of made sense to me so I felt I needed to reply just in case it really was from Jackie. I'll put what they said so you can avoid them. The first one said: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Subject: IMPORTANT DOCS CHEEK AND REPLY . I been trying to send you this Important document earlier but noticed the failure delivery so I had to send it again via Google doc. Click here and sign in with your personal email to view the document. Thanks. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I didn't click but I did reply to jhostage@aol.com. I asked her to verify that she really sent the email. I got this reply which was vague enough that I still wasn't sure. Joan I sent the mail to you early view it and get back to me thanks Jackie. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I still didn't click the link. Instead I asked the person I thought was Jackie to please tell me what the important document was because I didn't understand. Then I posted to the QR list too. This is so different from the usually hijacked contact list email. I found it odd that I got a reply and the name they signed off with was correct. Creepy. It also seems that when I hit reply, Jackie didn't get my message, someone else did. In other cases when there have been hijacked contact lists, I'll reply and let the person know their list has been compromised. They'll usually acknowledge this.
