Hello List, This query recently posted to V-Group List...Perhaps Renee Cummings [by chance] may have some input for Rod Cummings in OR...whose name was changed from Viau to Cummings in Late 1890s/early 1900. Rod wondered why the name was changed. Rod's grgrgrgrandfather was Charles Viau who came from Canada to Sault Saint Marie. Rod's grgrgrandfather was son Nelson who married Mary McClure of Chippewa Heritage, her father was Paul [Pillow] Charboneau. Nelson [1830-1902] and Mary had Rod's great grandfather Paul Cummings in 1857. Nelson may have been in a mental hospital at some point according to Ancestry.Com. Ciao, Tom Glassel
