Hi members I just began subscribing to the Online Drouin <https://www.genealogiequebec.com/en/>for the first time. I downloaded the guide to using it but I'm still wondering about a few things. I searched the archives but don't have the right search words to find the solution, I guess So here goes...when I post a query, many of you reply with the details of the details of the family...parents, children and baptisms. On the online DROUIN I see I can search for individuals and couples (like the online PRDH) Is there a way to get "families" in entirety like in the PRDH??? I also wonder if the families cache was from BMS2000 and not the DROUIN. (I don't subscribe to the BMS2000 so I wouldn't know) thanks ahead for your suggestions and tips. -- "Mary Beth" Mary Elizabeth Mylott-Fasano mbmylott@gmail.com
No Mary-Beth you can't. But if you key in the name of a couple it will give you all the records Drouin has on that couple for BMS, be it, subject, mother or father. You can open up to 150 records each day depending on the subscription you have. It only counts if you click on the little blue icon at the top right corner of the screen otherwise it doesn't count as a hit. One thing you have to do is play with the spelling of the names. At times I only use the name of one person if I'm not sure of the correct name of the other one. Thanks Doreen Fran and Renee for some guidance with the online Drouin Institute. I spent quite a lot of time getting use to it yesterday and it really gets the hits if I get the names correct. For me, it is very useful for capturing 1800-1860 births but I guess it still has to catch up with burials. So is it the BMS2000 that gives list of entire families in the 1800-1860 period? or something other?
