Did Charles Rancourt and Louise Germain dite Belisle who married in Trois-Rivières 3 Feb 1806 have a son named Pierre? If so, what happened to this family? They had several children, at least one who died in infancy, and Edouard Rancour who married in Trois-Rivières on 8 Oct 1832 with parents "of this parish" who were not given as present. Several records mention Charles as a soldier. He was originally from St.-François-de-Beauce. In Canada, I have found no marriage record for Pierre, nor death records for this family. In Maine, the 1860 Federal census of Waterville, Maine places an elderly Charles (age 94?) in the home of 'Peter Ranco,' age 41. On 13 Oct 1865 in Waterville, Pierre Rancourt had son Louis-Jos. whose godfather Louis Rancourt was the nephew of the same Charles Rancourt who had married Louise Germain. These two records suggest, but do not prove, that Pierre was the son of this Charles. Al Poulin
