Dot, In this case the answers you received so far are way off ......Francois SAUVAGE was from France .......Sauvage was his last name ...and in that marriage record it also states he was a sargeant in Legardeur's company so bottom line is .......her last name WAS Sauvage !! no native american reference here at all Don In a message dated 4/15/2014 6:34:41 P.M.
