    3. Richard, For lack of an answer, I looked into Google. Imboden is a place name in the state of Arkansas. Do the surnames in the publication exist in that area? Or did they in the past? Imboden is also a surname. Al Poulin On Apr 9, 2014, at 12:39 PM, Richard Van Wasshnova wrote: > What does Imboden mean?. 1. [Q-R] Sebastien Allaire’s Lne
    2. My Allain cousin shared someinformation about our Allaire ancestors with me. Sebastien Allaire is thefather of our Allaire line and he was born in France. He married PerrineThourisone. I had just stored the info that my cousin had shared with me yearsago. I thought that I would check the net to see if there was new info on myAllaire line. For now, since I cannot verify the new information that Ifound, it will not be in my book. Below is a little bit of new info that I have found. A number of Allaire trees have Sebastien Allaire’s birth as beingabout 1608 and others as early as 1582 in Chantonnay , Vendée, France. Hisfather was Guillaume Allaire. He married Perrine Thourisone (and )other spellings) on January 29, 1629at St-Philibert-du-Pont-Charrault, Chantonnay,, Vendee, Pays de la Loire,France. He past on March 7, 1686 in Chantonnay,, Vendee, Pays de la Loire,France. I wonder where they discovered their information? Is anyone researching the Allaire line? Mary Boudreau

    3. Hello Mary, Sébastien ALLAIRE and his wife Perrine FLEURISSON (feminized as FLEURISSONNE, misread as THOURISONNE by many) were the parents of two New-France pioneers : Jean and Charles ALLAIRE. Most of the work on this family was done by Marguerite MORISSON, a well known French genealogist, well known and might I add, very reliable. An earlier and equally reliable source is Violette ALLAIRE who published her research in several articles and then a book, in 1662. This book was re-edited in English in 1979, under the title "The Allaire-Dallaire Families of America", and can be found in several libraries. You can also view snippets of it on Google Books. Sébastien and Perrine FLEURISSON were married on the 24th of January 1629, in Saint-Philibert-du-Pont-Charrault parish, in the town of Chantonnay, in the present departement of Vendée, France. You can verify this fact yourself by viewing the actual parish register which has been on-line for some time now. Look at Saint-Philibert-du-Pont-Charrault, registres paroissiaux, mariages 1621-jan. 1663, view 6. It reads: Idem de Bastien fils de feu Guillaume Allaire avecq Perrine Fille de Rene Florisson de la Caillère En datte du vintquatriesme janvier 1629 This mariage is also recorded on the same date in the registers of Saint-Hilaire parish, in the town of Caillère, also in Vendée, which was the bride's parish. You will find further details here : http://www.fichierorigine.com/detail.php?numero=240028 As to where these researchers have discovered their information, I can assure you it was not from copy pasting whatever they chanced upon on the internet. Marguerite Morisson spends countless hours deciphering archival documents in France, and so did Violette Allaire. Others merely copy, rarely taking the time to thank or even acknowledge these two invaluable researchers. 2. Mona, Thank you for replying to my e-mail. It has been about five years or more since I have looked at my Allaire information. I learned early that you had to verify information and to be vague if you didn't have much information on an ancestor. Mona, I just knew that someone on the list could help me out. I appreciate your help so much. 3. I agree, Al. I would take it as a place name. I didn't know where it was either, and had to look it up, too. Maybe someone who has the book, or has used the book can comment on the format of how the information is given. Or, maybe Richard has some other deaths from this book that give a location name right after the date of the event.
