Another Emilie question, I located an Emilie Rivard Bellefeuille buried in the Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery in Montreal in 1894-03-18 with the rest of my ancestors. I can't find a death record for this Emilie on ancestry.ca. Does anyone have access to another data base that might provide this information? And, does anyone know if the cemetery offers any type of genealogy information on deceased persons if I were to contact them? The fact that Emilie was said to be a widow in the 1861 census is not to be taken as a fact that she had married as it can just have been written because she was living with a son (people were discreet about illegitimate offsprings...). > >The father cited in Leon's marriage, Augustin Laroche, should be the one who was married with Marguerite Marchand living in Maskinonge, although he was still living in 1858 (he is said «defunt» in Leon's marriage). His marriage record shows him as Leon LaRoche m. Adeline Chalifoux in Montreal (Notre Dame basilica) in 1858. His parents are listed as Augustin Laroche and Emilie Bellefeuille. However, shortly after he married, he changed his name to Leon Bellefeuille. > > I have been trying to determine for years which Emelie Bellefeuille of the many out there is my ancestor. I can't find a marriage or death record for her. I found a 35 yr old Emilie living with Jean Baptiste Bellefeuille (age 66) and Leon Bellefeuille (age 15) and a sister, Tersila (age 40) in the 1851 Canada Census in St Maurice county. She's the one I am leaning towards, but can't find a marriage record. > > The other, > > 2) Emilie Rivard Bellefeuille. I don't have a birth date for her. Her parents are listed on her marriage record as Philippe Rivard Bellefeuille and Benomie Gadiose (sp). She married Casimere Gelinas on 1832-Jul-10 in Yamachiche. She died in 1873 at the age of 64 years which puts her birth on 1809 give or take a few years. She was a widow when she died and I could only find her in the 1851 Canada Census living with Casimire in St Maurice County. Her age is listed as 41 years or approximately 1810 birth year. She is older, but died a widow. > > Sorry for the long winded email. But I am hoping someone out there can help me move past this horrendously difficult wall. > > Thanks for "listening".
