I saw the entry you found for Emma, and I found her death record https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F8HD-TZ7 Unfortunately her mother's last name is not listed there either, but it's possible the mother's last name is on the official record. You can send to the RI State Archives for a copy. Her birth date is 17 September 1863 on the RI State Census of 1935. I don't have a subscription to the world ancestry, and I didn't find Emma's birth at familysearch.org Maybe someone can find her birth record. I did see an Emma Prevost in the 1871 Canadian Census, daughter of Paul & Melvina. Born in 1864 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M4KG-WZ4 So, maybe a place to look for Emma's birth. The daughter was named Malvina, though, so maybe this will turn out to be the right family.
