    2. Francois and Marie Louise were married 20 Nov 1740 There were married at Trois Rivieres,Montmorency,Quebec,Canada I have seen her parents listed as Francois Wild and Marie Louise Mouet. Does anyone know why Sauvage is given as her last name? Thanks, Dot

    3. Someone has done some creative translating. The record in Drouin shows that Marie Louise Sauvage was the daughter of deceased Francois Sauvage & Marie Louise Moette. Her husband was Francois Caissie dit le Dragon. The word "sauvage" means wild, uncivilized and sometimes used in those early days in reference to the native peoples.
