    3. Of course you are right Mona: the Fichier Origine notes that the link between the 1601 baptism of a Jeanne and the 1629 Marriage of a Jeanne is not proven because the parents are not named in the marriage. However, the fact that Jeanne is the sister of Marin seems established although I don't know the source of the information. Now that the Fichier origine gives Pierre Boucher and Roberte parent as Jeanne's parents, albeit with a caveat, it extends to Marin the same parents, and no doubt this will spread and become a fact although it is not a proven fact. It would be nice if further research in France could dig up the missing proof:, given that Marin Boucher is one of the most important pioneers with a great many descendants. 3. I see Jeanne Boucher updated today does not say she is sister of Marin. Doesn't mention Marin. 3. Good morning Bertrand, The link between Jeanne BOUCHER (wife of Thomas HAYET) and Marin BOUCHER is established in the marriage contract of Marie BOUCHER daughter of Marin, to Charles GODIN, on October 1, 1656, wherein Thomas HAYET and Jeanne BOUCHER are described as "oncle et tante de l'épouse", oncle and aunt of the bride. Furthermore, a Jeanne BOUCHER is godmother to Jean BOUCHER, son of Marin and Julienne BARIL, in Saint-Langis, on March 15, 1613. Most of what is known of this family was published in an article of the Mémoires (MSGCF), in 1957. If you take a look at the FO today, you'll see that yesterday's optimism was short lived. The parents of Marin Boucher remain unknown. The research in France is on-going as we speak but cannot progress beyond the available records. As often happens, I think it likely the answer we seek lurks somewhere in our own archives, possibly in Trois-Rivières, just waiting for the right person to turn the right page and connect the dots. ;o)) Cheers, Mona On 14-04-14 10:01 AM, Desjardins Bertrand wrote: > Of course you are right Mona: the Fichier Origine notes that the link between the 1601 baptism of a Jeanne and the 1629 Marriage of a Jeanne is not proven because the parents are not named in the marriage.
