A DNA test may solve the mystery.We found  a lost relative with a DNA test Kathie Edwards <rose23@telus.net>To:quebec@rootsweb.comSep. 19 at 8:15 a.m.  A fellow was born in the Lachine Hospital in 1956 which at that time was operated by Sisters of Providence. I would like to know where the hospital records for that time frame would be located. Also the baptismal records. This fellow has a birth certificate that was issued in 1958. It is complicated as he knows his birth parents, but was adopted, something happened about 5 or 6 years into the adoption and he was in foster care until he was 16 with the same family for the whole time. The birth certificate he has is with his adopted parents name. Recently he tried to open a Service Canada account, without success until he went to a Service Canada Centre where they informed him that the date on his birth certificate was incorrect and they applied for a new Birth Certificate for him, which makes him younger than he really is.   I believe that somewhere between his birth, adoption and foster care a mistake has been made. The only way to have this corrected is to find the original records. Hospitals usually have records for all of their patients. Also as this was a Catholic hospital he may have be christened soon after birth, but I do not know where those records by be held.   Any help with this would be appreciated very much. Thank you Kathie
