and off Tecle, daughter off Toussaint Hunaut, residentoftheCote Saint Francois on the said Isle of Montreal  andofMarieLorgueil, her father and mother, of the other part.Theseparties, inthe presence of, and having received the consent oftheirfamily andfriends assembled for this purpose on behalf ofbothparties.  Namely,on behalf of the said Thomas Chartrand,MasterGilbert Barbier,carpenter and resident of the said Montreal,RenePerroux, and AbrahamBinet, also resident in the said Montreal; andonbehalf of the saidThecle Hunaut, the said Toussaint Hunaut andMarieLorgeuil her fatherand mother, Mr Charles Lemoyne, Sieur ofLongueuilin the saidMontreal, Mssrs Robert Perroys et MathurinRoullier,residents of theCote Saint Francois, recognized and admittedhavingmade and agreedto the contract and promises of marriage, that istosay, the saidThomas Chartrand has promised to take the saidThecleHunaut as hiswife and lawful spouse, as also the said ThecleHunauthas promised totake the said Thomas Chartrand [words crossedout] asher husband andlawful spouse, and that the marriage will beperformedand solemnisedbefore our Holy Mother the Catholic, Apostolic,andRoman Church, assoon as it can be arranged, as advised andconsentedto by theparties, their family and friends, if God and ourHoly MothertheChurch consent to it, and the said future spousesconsent and agreetohold in common as one the goods, furnishings, realpropertyacquiredor cleared according to the custom of Paris which isfollowedin thiscountry; neither party shall be held liable for thedebtsandmortgages made and entered by the other before thesolemnisationoftheir marriage, and if any such are discovered, theyshally bepaidand indemnified by the party who incurred them, and uponthatparty'sassets.  The future groom shall take the future bride withallherrights, deeds, reasons and actions, whereever they mightbefound,situated, or located; the future bride shall be endowedwiththecustomary dowry according to the aforesaid custom, and infavourofthe said marriage, the future spouses have, by thesepresents,madedonation each to the other, as an irrevocable bequestbetweenlivingparties, and to the survivor of the two of them, of eachand allthereal properties that belong to them,  and of those theymightacquireby clearance, by succession, by donation, orotherwise,withoutreservation of any of them in any manner whatsoever,andwhereeverthey might be found or located, to be enjoyed by, and tobedisposedof, by the survivor,  in any manner proper to the ownerofpropertieslegitimately and honestly acquired, so long as, on thedaythat thesaid future marriage is dissolved, there be no livingchildborn tothe two of them.
