But I saw a vault truck entering the cemetery close to where I'm standing now. Within minutes I'm in the area of the truck. The guy asked if I was here to assist him with the vault. Of course no, but it ended up yes. He quickly told me he had a rush order to get a vault here for a burial later on today. At that point we both saw the grave had already been dug. So he saw where the truck had to be moved to and where the vault had to be lowered into. But there was no one around to help him. So I volunteered to give him a hand. Fortunately the truck was high enough off the ground to pass over existing headstones in order to get the crane part and chain above the grave to drop the vault into. I got him backed up with out hitting a headstone. Then we rigged the chain onto the vault moved the crane part over the grave and started lowering it. Course, it would not lower exactly straight down, so much for gravity, so I was actually on the vault jogging it around to fit and lower into the grave. Finally it went down and settled into the bottom of the grave. Nice job and the rest was up to him. He was very appreciative and I learned another aspect of cemeteries/ graves /burials/death.
