I called him Pere Jean A dear friend of all French in North America researchers passed. He translated Latin & all derived languagles. He "knew" about the change in the meaning of words over time. He knew Church law and how it affected our marriage. Every time I use the Q-R dit name list I think about him. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~unclefred/main.htm Paul -----Original Message----- From: linp219--- via Quebec-Research Father John L. Among other things, Fr. John was a great help with our Latin and French documents. He aided me in breaking down some dubious brick walls by translating very long documents.
