Her parents i have as Jean Baptiste Gauthier and Elisabeth Bibeau. I also have a son Joseph born 28 January 1840 to Pierre Masson and Marie Gauthier. I think he is the Joseph Mason who died in Fort Collins, Colorado in 11 February 1881.  One person in an article in the Coloradian said he was the great grandson of Augustin, Joseph's older brother. He said that Joseph's birth name was Messier, but never heard that Messier was a dit name for Masson. This "historian" said that Joseph was the youngest of 10 children of a farmer near Montreal.
